I'm visiting here for a few days so thought i'd try out Kan Zaman restaurant in Haight (recommended by naseebsters). Food was not bad, and the sheesha was pretty good, although you could only smoke at the bar as they didn't allow it on the tables whilst you smoke. Cost $14 for a sheesha which I thought was a bit much, but still cheaper than the $20 I got charged a couple of days ago at a moroccon place closer to my hotel. Are all the hookah bars in the US this pricey, or is san fran a unique example? I still ... Read More
September 19, 2005 at 7:51pmwell...if u look at it from price prospective... everything belongs to sheesha is over priced here in the US... if u go to buy the whole sheesha here in florida..they will charg...

Guess what guys, the Republican powers that be are at loggerheads with each other over the infamous FEMA response. Not to mention the healthy prognosis--the budget deficit hitting an all-time high when the Govt. undertakes renovation. The Gulf couldnt have been a better target to quake the countrys economy. The USAs been hit below the belt so to speak and moreoever, Katrina's shown us all how much we relied on the Gulf's maritime. Apparently the Saudi "royals" really do believe that they own Islam. They are about to destroy a historical living space of the prophet and replace it with a parking lot (Joan Baez was right). This is where I found out about it; www.dawn.com Perhaps you all want to sign the petition. petitiononline.com

Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy has received much hype in the UK. Although it was originally meant to be a series for children, Pullman's writing strongly appeals to the adult market too. Has anyone read "Northern Lights," "The Subtle Knife" or "The Amber Spyglass?" Are they worth reading?
September 27, 2005 at 8:38pmI read the Northern Lights, and then saw a staged adaptation of the trilogy at a theatre in London. Besides the concept of the daemons, it didn't interest me much. By HARUN YAHYA Life slips away second by second. Are you aware that every day brings you closer to death or that death is as close to you as it is to other people? As we are told in the verse "Every soul shall taste death in the end; to Us shall you be brought back." (Surat al-'Ankabut: 57) everyone who has ever appeared on this earth was destined to die. Without exception they all died, every one. Today, we hardly come across the traces of many of these people who passed away. Those currently living an... Read More

Imagine that. I bought my first SUV and the GAS prices are sky high at all time high. Now I am seriously thinking about trading my SUV in a horse. Are you guys feeling this heat or its just me?
September 9, 2005 at 12:37pmstajani, only few cities in the US have an extensive rail/train/metro system - the rest require you to use one of 'em gas guzzlers for transportation!September 9, 2005 at 8:53amLOL @ Zztopp, Gas prices here in Canada touched $1.5/liter. I think the prices are still low, not high enough to deter people from using SUVs and car unnecessarily.
