  • She married him because that is what she was supposed to do. No longer the spring chicken at 27, she knew that her options were limited and a man with an advanced engineering degree and a steady job, living in America, would not come knocking every day. Pragmatically, she knew rumors in their close knit Karachi community were always so overblown. Six years and five pregnancies later, she questioned whether God might listen to any of her innumerable daily prayers. A marriage based on petulant demands, publi... Read More

  • Here is a yahoodi's stand on the Arab-Palestinian right of return: The conflict between Israel and the Arab world is not about the borders of the Jewish State. Simply put, the core of the conflict is about Israel's mere existence! Grab a map and look throughout the Arab NearEast-MiddleEast and much of Africa and Asia. Israel is the ONLY non-Muslim nation. It is also the only democracy! Sure, Lebanon functioned somewhat as a bi-national Christian/Muslim nation until Yasser Arafat and his Palestine Libe... Read More

  • I am not the right person (with enough knowledge) about this topic, but from the research that i have done it seems like Islam forbids anyone from leaving it. In case some does decide to do so the only punishment is death. Conclusively it seems like a one way road to me, if you want to join the gang i.e. Islam we (the religion) welcome you, but if its the other way around, you gotta die hmm! something to think about, or something to ijtehad about :)
