  • Excerpts from a Wise Man: I never have quite figured out why the sexual urges of men & women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Mars & Venus thing. And, I never have figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart. And, I never yet have figured out how the sexual desire gene changes to a state of turmoil, when it hears the words, "I do". One evening last week, my wife and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she... Read More

  • I have an ethical question for you all: I am currently doing my psych rotation. One of our patients is a high functioning schizoaffective. Just the other day, he gave me an orange from his lunch tray and told me to speed up his discharge process. I accepted the orange but told him I wouldn't offer him guarantees. I wonder if that constitutes an ethical violation. Am I supposed to accept this bribe, no matter how small it is? Or should I decline the offer and possibly insult him?

    September 26, 2005 at 1:56pm
I agree chocolate is so much more worthy
    September 25, 2005 at 10:24pm
The orange was his hope and by accepting it without making any promises, you let his hope live and that should be enough. There is nothing unethical about the situation as long ...

  • I was wondering what is the spiritual significance of the number 40? Jews wandered the desert for 40 years, Hindus believe that it takes the soul 40 days to move from this earthly plane to the next reincarnated state, from the time Lent begins to Easter is a total of 40 days, the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) was in a meditative state for 40 days prior to recieving the first revelation - coincidentally when he was 40 years old.... I'm sure there are plenty more examples.... Is there some real significance or is it ... Read More

  • Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn't know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed. Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot, and ground coffee beans in the third pot. He then let ... Read More

  • Read on the TTC- Let us live and love not listening to old men's talk. Suns will rise and set long after our little light has gone away to darkness. Kiss me again and again. Let me kiss you a hundred times a thousand more, again a thousand without rest, losing count, so no one can speak of us and say they know the number of our kisses.
