Kind-er Eggs in WOW
www.kindersurprise.com I love the concept of Kinder eggs, a little sweet choc treat with a surprise in the middle! How could a kinder egg fail to make someone's day that bit sweeter? I've had some funny toys in my kinder surprises, I'd love to see what kind of people sit there deciding on what toys go in, or maybe they just bulk order them from China and just take what they're given... Once I had a little figure of a wise old man... complete with long beard and staff... There were 3 to... Read More

Naqshbandi in Sufism
Salamalaikum all, Hope u are all fine with the grace of Allah Thala. I am curious abt the naqshbandi sufi tariqa's emphasis. For eg, I know that the shadiliya focus on thanking Allah, and the halveti and Rumi's tariqa focus on 'Love', whereas Ghazali focused on 'Fear of Allah'. I am not sure what the NAqshbandi'f focus is on? ANy thoughts? Jazakallah khairan

Greetings fellow Arabs (and non-Arabs), figured I'd stop by and introduce myself to this community. So as the title says, I am a Tunisian born in Kansas from Tunisian parents. I spent a great deal of time in Tunis and I learnt to appreciate my rich heritage (couscous ummmm). I don't know how to say this without sounding too cheesy, but I look forward to interacting with all of you. /Waves good bye for now =) PS: It did sound cheesy after all =/
January 22, 2006 at 12:13pmActually I've only seen three Tunisians in the States; one in Massachusetts and two in San Francisco... It looks like we're truly a minority around here, unlike in Europe =PJanuary 20, 2006 at 6:05pmi am new here. it seems nobody is home in this web site.!!!

I'm looking for interactive Arabic learning resources for kids. I would like to find something interactive that would grab the kids' attention, particularly software (not necessarily programs) like online Flash presentations, electornic flash cards, etc. I found this, which is quite nice: www.funwitharabic.com However, only the alphabet song was good. Other parts are inappropriate for children (you get sheesha and stuff) Any help?

Taken from www.rawa.org , the article is a few years old but is quite insightful. Please take a moment to read and share your views. "When I'm on a secret mission in the more remote parts of Afghanistan, I'll get up at 7am or earlier. I'll have just black tea - no sugar, it's very expensive here. Like all Afghan women I have to wear a burka, the shroud that covers you completely. Another stupid rule says you can't wear white socks, because that's the colour of the national flag. I hide my... Please share some of yours! A touching moment I would like to share took place 7 years ago when I went to my parents' hometown of Chakwal in northern Pakistan near Rawalpindi. Picture row houses (one connected to the other on both sides...typical Pakistani-style homes in small towns). This is how my paternal grandparents' home is. Across the street, my grandparents' (God rest their souls) had a few more smaller-sized homes which, at that time, they had rented out to some Pathan families that wanted to s... Read More

Seems like a good time to find out a little more about just what kind of NBA fan you are. Play along, and all will become clear in a few minutes 1) Which approach would you prefer to see from an NBA player? A: Always work hard but enjoy free time B: Live it up, then take the games seriously 2) Now being the crucial time of the NFL season, whom would you rather watch as a hoopster? A: Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme, because his daring and skill would make him an exciting, gritty gunner B: Pi... Read More

Okay fans, unless you're rooting for one of the 4 teams still in the running (or even if you are), what changes would you make for your team in the off-season to make them contenders next year? My team is the Chicago Bears. First, I'd put my starting QB, Rex Grossman, through some intensive training to improve strength but especially accuracy. He also needs to focus a little bit better when the pressure's on. I'd acquire another decent WR. We've got 2, but another would help things tremendously. Our RB ... Read More

who is your favourite character of all time in any book you've read. A person, a man/woman a being, in a book that you could really maybe empathise with or one which made you shiver because they were so much like you or they were just very awesome. I loved Colonel Aurlieno Buendas (first one) in 100 years of solitude, and florentino in love in the time of cholera. And then there is Dorian Gray.
