January 19, 2006 Today PBS's NewsHour had an excellent report on the aftermath of the earthquake and what life is like for the poor there. It was a very moving report bound to bring tears to anyones eyes as you see little kids literally shivering in the freezing cold and sick with preventable diseases. Please excuse my lack of knowledge regarding this topic but I wanted to know what it means when it is said that someone or another has "reverted" (instead of converted) to Islam. I am trying to understand this concept logically, from an Islamic standpoint. Also, is there a reference in the holy Koran or the hadiths related to the "reverting" vs. "converting" differentiation?
