  • I'm planning a trip to Paris and London at the beginning of July inshallah, for two weeks... any hotel recommendations? somewhere close enough to tourist stuff, but safe and of course cheap? also, on a side note, i'd be interested in meeting any naseebers who live in london or paris, as I will be travelling solo. one more thing! any daytrips you would recommend from both cities? i've already been to monet's gardens at giverny... never been to london though, and wondering which daytrips are worth the tim... • What do you think is a reasonable age difference between the man and the woman in a couple? I know a lot of us could say that anything goes as long as it works for the couple but if there is a choice what age difference would you consider right? who should be older?

    May 7, 2005 at 1:20am
15 year age difference ?! I'd say 5-6 would be the limit.
    May 6, 2005 at 9:52am
    age is just numbers :D

  • Does anyone here live in an area where the masjid or some other group sponsors a support group or committee just for converts? If so, please contact me (or if you can't because you don't give your $ to Naseeb, you can post your response on here). I'm very interested in starting one of these groups in my community inshaAllah because of the growth of Muslims here (alhamdulillah) and would like to know how other similar groups were organized and function. Thank you!!

  • I am getting increasingly irritated by the fact that why do women have to take all the responsibility and impose more and more restrictions on themselves because men are sick. Why would Allah want to do this to half the population of homosapiens? BUt then is it really what Islam teaches us or the interpretation that comes from predominantly male scholars. In our culture women are taught to always be afraid of this and that. Dont wear this, dont talk loud, dont laugh. Then if you wear hijab people will obje... Read More

  • Does anyone here every frequent used bookstores? This sounds cheap and dorky, but I figure why not get the books that you want (especially if you buy alot of them). Also, you are doing the environment a favor. The best part though is finding that 1942 Rubaiyatt, or an early Shelley book of poetry. I absolutely love going to these places and poring over the stacks. Its somewhat of a hobby now. Anyone else?

  • On the 1st of January, 1998, Bjarne Stroustrup gave an interview to the IEEE's 'Computer' magazine. Naturally, the editors thought he would be giving a retrospective view of seven years of object-oriented design, using the language he created. By the end of the interview, the interviewer got more than he had bargained for and, subsequently, the editor decided to suppress its contents, 'for the good of the industry' but, as with many of these things, there was a leak. Here is a complete transcript o... Read More

  • I think J-Lo is overrated...personally I do not think she is attractive at all. Her hips and butt are too big for the rest of her body...she is very unproportionate.....she should have more on top. Her feautures are nothing special, particularly her nose and her thin lips...and why on earth does the woman never wear lipstick???? In case anyone wants to call me a "hater", I will go ahead and say that I think Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie... • Why dont we start sharing some of our most 'loved' songs by jagjit. I particularly like the 'Kagaz ki kishti' song, but i think everyone who listens to Jagjit likes it. So to add a bit of a flare, i really like this one ghazal called 'mey nashay mey hu'. I like how Jagjit busts out with a little commentary...joke, story, etc before he sings. This applies mostly to the 'live performance' songs...but some songs do have a good joke in the beginning. I have songs to share, so if anyone wants this 'nashay' ... Read More

  • manchester news Monday, 7th June 2004 MANCHESTER music legend Morrissey sparked controversy when he announced Ronald Reagan's death live on stage during a concert - and then declared he wished it was George Bush who had died instead. Thousands of fans at Dublin Castle, in Ireland, cheered when the ex-Smiths frontman made the announcement that the former American president, who had battled with Alzheimer's Disease, had passed away. And an even bigger cheer followed when Morrissey - who is no stranger t... Read More
