May 31, 2005 at 7:36pmHi Fitra. I remember reading somewhere that Albert Einstein favored a vegetarian diet later in life. I guess we have something more than our birthdays in common, after all.May 31, 2005 at 12:46amAlbert Einstein believed "Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on our nature. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind."May 31, 2005 at 12:45am"Our task must be to free ourselves . . . by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty." As much as the question it self is controversial, it goes down under the souls? framework to checkout all the hidden skeletons. For once if we can take off our narrow minded religious hats and think like human beings; for sure, we will see a dozen religions surrounding us. The question is not to debate which religion is the best of all, but to see the need for an organized religion (e.g. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc?). Is it something that we are human beings cannot live without? Are a... Read More

The cruel and sadistic tradition of bullfighting is, unfortunately, one of the biggest tourist draws in Spain (and other countries around the world). A recent survey conducted in Spain revealed that 60% of Spaniards are not even interested in bullfighting. Tourists are keeping bullfighting in business. I'm adding a link here to Peta's page, which has more information about bullfighting and what you (that's assuming that you are opposed to animal cruelty) and I can do to make sure that people stop pumping mone... 0. Was our beloved Rasool (SAAWW) a vegetarian? YES or NO? NO. 1. Do we all acknowledge the event when he, as a youth on a trip to Syria, refused to attend a gathering where non-halal meat was being served? I BELIEVE THIS. 2. Okay, then where did he learn the correct ways of Deen-e-Ibrahim? Could it be learned in the homes of Kuffar'e Makkah? NO. (Please correct me if any answer is incorrect - the burden is on you, O Khalifah!-) 3. So then where would Muhammad Mustafaa (SAAWW) have learned about Zab... Read More
October 8, 2005 at 2:56pmOkay, so this is becoming one sided. Does no one else care to fix the oxymoron that Abu Talib wasn't a muslim when simple rational proof like this tells us that he was a hanif?July 14, 2005 at 5:38amSo can this article help in resolving a potential dispute about where our Beloved Prophet was mentored through his 'formative years'?

What do you think is a reasonable age difference between the man and the woman in a couple? I know a lot of us could say that anything goes as long as it works for the couple but if there is a choice what age difference would you consider right? who should be older?

Does anyone here live in an area where the masjid or some other group sponsors a support group or committee just for converts? If so, please contact me (or if you can't because you don't give your $ to Naseeb, you can post your response on here). I'm very interested in starting one of these groups in my community inshaAllah because of the growth of Muslims here (alhamdulillah) and would like to know how other similar groups were organized and function. Thank you!!

I am getting increasingly irritated by the fact that why do women have to take all the responsibility and impose more and more restrictions on themselves because men are sick. Why would Allah want to do this to half the population of homosapiens? BUt then is it really what Islam teaches us or the interpretation that comes from predominantly male scholars. In our culture women are taught to always be afraid of this and that. Dont wear this, dont talk loud, dont laugh. Then if you wear hijab people will obje... Read More

Does anyone here every frequent used bookstores? This sounds cheap and dorky, but I figure why not get the books that you want (especially if you buy alot of them). Also, you are doing the environment a favor. The best part though is finding that 1942 Rubaiyatt, or an early Shelley book of poetry. I absolutely love going to these places and poring over the stacks. Its somewhat of a hobby now. Anyone else?
