  • Many people argue that if we had an ideal Muslim Governement in our countries, we would be living in Utopia. However, I have yet to hear anyone describe the characteristics of such a government other than people saying that it would go according to the sharia. I would like to know what are the qualities of such a gov't. Some questions to ponder on: How would the leader/legislator of this country be elected? How would it differ from the typical western country? How closely would it resemble the Tali... Read More

  • I don't know about ya'll, but I don't always see procrastination as a bad thing. In fact, all my best papers in school were written the night before (if not the CLASS before) they were due. I figure, at that point, you have no choice BUT to do it.

    July 25, 2005 at 9:24pm
wasted time just seems more delicious when you know you're procastinating something... that is, once you get over that permeating guilt
    May 19, 2005 at 5:54pm

  • hmmm... I'm way out of the loop other than the Premiership in England! Who are likely transfers this summer in the market??? And Glazer's ownership of ManU is rather interesting, I must say. I really don't know what to make of it!?! Is it a coveted acquisition that he wants to have as his muse (which is good, he'll care more about players & winning than making the almighty dollar/sterling) OR is it just another financial instrament for him to payoff other debts & self-finance it's own purchase in the lo... • disclaimer - I'm fairly new to naseeb so don't know the journal protocol yet. if this topic is too stupid for "professionals" let me know. so, recenlty I've had a chance to hang out with a lot of senior managers at work and see them deal with a lot management related issues. I was wondering if there are any managers out there (esp. in the engineering field) who would like to share their experiences. how did you get to be in management? do you like it? what kind of future do you see ahead of you?

    May 16, 2005 at 1:04am

  • Two Hindu swamis were in conversation. One said to the other, "How did you like my latest book, 'The Art of Levitation'?" His companion replied, "It kept me up all night." *** A Hindu devotee asked God, represented by the multi-armed Lord Narayana, this question. "My dear Lord," he said. "I understand that you have innumerable inconceivable potencies. But out of all of them the energy of light seems to be the most amazing. Light pervades the spiritual world, it illuminates the material universes, a... Read More

  • In many books and movies we see that a villain, a person of evil character sees the light and changes completely to be a good person. I am sure everything is possible in this world but generally do you think that it is realistic for most people? Are most people capable of such a change? Do people really change so drastically? What are the essential factors that would make it likely for such a change to happen?

  • Sufis were great intellectuals - men of letters and poets of eminence. Adept in medicine and steeped in spiritualism, they looked upon 'social service' as the supreme goal of all their spiritual exercises; advocated the path of peace and asked people to avoid rift and bloodshed. Shaikh Fariduddin Ganj Shakar of Pakpattan advised his disciples to placate one's enemies. He once told a vistor: "Do not give me a knife; give me a needle. The knife is an instrument for ...
