  • Hey all, just curious if anyone saw the recent movie, Kingdom of Heaven? I was wondering what your thoughts were on its portrayal of Muslim Arabs?

    May 21, 2005 at 9:26am
I saw this movie and I thought it was pretty good. Parts of it dragged on a little, but overall I was impressed. I did also notice many inaccuracies, including the prayer, the...

  • Salaam- I need to buy loupes soon. We had some reps come to our school from Designs for Vision, SurgiTel, and Orascoptic. I have a really strong eyeglass prescription and I wear a scarf. Any thoughts on built-in microscopes vs. the flipup kind? For anyone who wears a scarf, should I consider that flipups are heavier and may require a headband which is difficult to wear under my scarf? I'm a pre-doctoral student who will likely specialize (not sure yet in what). I'm looking to get a magnification of 2.5x. ... Read More

  • My Evil Brother Was A Saint? There were two evil brothers. They were rich and used their money to keep their ways from the public eye. They even attended the same church and looked to be perfect Christians. Then, their pastor retired and a new one was hired. Not only could he see right through the brothers' deception, but he also spoke well and true, and the church started to swell in numbers. A fundraising campaign was started to build a new assembly. All of a sudden, one of the brothers died. Th... Read More

  • Assalamu Alaikum, As a new Muslim, what are some heart-warming experiences and beautiful traits you encountered in the people and the Muslim community you joined, and which you have not previously experienced (at least not to that level). This is a continuation to the previous post titled "New Muslims, Lessons Learnt" and this too will insha-Allah be used in a constructive manner in a speech/article.

    May 26, 2005 at 5:43pm
There's so much to say about this. Insha'Allah I will write a bit about it and either put in a separate post or email to you privately. MashAllah, so many good people. They do a...

  • Yay or nay?? I have a tendency of wanting to match my shoes to my handbag - if nothing else matches I don't care but as long as the two go somewhat together I am digging my outfit (and if my watch adds in that extra zing) what is your take on this fashion accessory?? And when can it be too much? The link below is actually of a handbag I have but I think in this case the shoes are pushing it - img156.echo.cx

  • Well, in case I get married to a Pakistani girl; will she have a problem with naming our kid "Damian"....I don't know...I just like the sound of it. Also, "Seven" will make a unique name don't you guys agree?

    May 17, 2005 at 5:50am
Personally i like Damian as a name, I mean there is that whole statanic thing to, but its a cool name. Now Seven i am not sure about, I mean why not One, Two, or even Three??
