  • I just came across this village and the idea is great. I am looking for a girl for an awsome friend of mine who is not my brother so I can not realy say that I am looking for a bhabhi. Can I still ask around and no girl will mind here. Is that how it works or this village is to express opinions about the selections. This guy who I am talking about is a total package and finally admits that he can settle down if I find him a special girl and I think for guys to realize that its "The Time" is amazing. I just h... • I wonder if it is too much to ask to be inspired by your mate. I recently had a discussion about this and in a fog of pseudo-intellectualism I told my friend that I would want to be inspired by the mere presence of my wife. Not just a friend, a love, but also a muse. I was severely admonished. Apparently that is too much to put on my potential mate. What about it ladies? Any out there willing to shoulder this burden?

    June 14, 2005 at 9:15pm
I believe Stephen Hawkings is married. So, he is inspiring someone, somehow. (Good for him, by the way.)

is it a question of inspiration, or really motivation?

  • hmmm... Ok, I'm considering another car purchase. Right now I already have an import 2seat high-perf. sports coupe & an import midsized SUV. I'm looking into getting a plush midsized import (JDM) 4dr w/ reasonable miles, no major drama, etc. I'm looking to spend $3.5-5k ( +/- $500 ); basically it's play money for an utility car. The contenders so far are: - 1990-1996 Infiniti Q45 ($2.5-6.5k) - 1991-1995 Acura Legend ($2.5-5.5k) Others I'd be keen on but seem to be slightly above my range: * 199... Read More

    June 1, 2005 at 10:46am
Wow, i'm looking in the same boat for price range, but I was unaware of some of these cars that could be attained with $5k. I was thinking Toyota Corolla personally lol.

  • Dear Mathematicians, I am currently struggling with a math problem. It involves showing the existence of a scalar sequence t(k) that satisfies a system of affine matrix equations of the form x(k+1) = A(t(k),t(k-1))x(k) + b(t(k),t(k-1)), for integers k = 1,...,p; x belongs to real N-dimensional space; A is square and both A and b are piecewise differentiable in t(k) and t(k-1) for each k. • Riding the "L" is always an experience for me. Sometimes it's fun people-watching and at other times the noise and filth are just plain annoying. But, most of the time, I just zone out and let my thoughts carry me somewhere far away. A few weeks ago I did not have this option. The reason? Well, I had the privilege of twisting my ankle, while running to the "L" in the rain, during the hype of rush hour. Once I boarded the train, I was further honored to have an obese man sit next to me as I suffocated bet... Read More

  • Working women all around the world are faced with a dilemma as old as women's lib and the glass ceiling: being stay-at-home moms or continuing with their careers. Do you plan on trading in the corporate ladder for diapers and baby bottles? How about you guys out there? Gender roles are increasingly changing in todays day and age. More and more dads are staying home with the kids as women become the primary bread winners. After having truly horrible experiences with nannies, my cousin, who is a doctor and his... Read More

  • I have this great and giant book called THE SECRET LANGUAGE OF RELATIONSHIPS, which is written by the same guys who brought us THE SECRET LANGUAGE OF BIRTHDAYS. From Amazon.com: The Secret Language of Relationships is simple to use. A glance at the two-page chart at the beginning of the book determines your birthday "period." Next, find the period of the person who interests you--friend, parent, child, lover, or mate. The ensuing relationship dynamics are named colorfully and aptly: "Peas in a Pod," "Uncommo... • I've heard so many aunties share this desi divorce story, I'm beginning to think that either everyone really does know everyone else in our community or that it's a desi urban legend. It basically goes like this: An American desi girl is married to a guy who has recently arrived from the motherland. They have a pretty good relationship, except that the girl still insists on going out with her old friends even if the hubby isn't in the mood for a night on the town. He forbids her from going out with her frien... Read More
