  • It's Imperialism, Stupid Noam Chomsky Khaleej Times, July 4, 2005 In his June 28 speech, President Bush asserted that the invasion of Iraq was undertaken as part of "a global war against terror" that the United States is waging. In reality, as anticipated, the invasion increased the threat of terror, perhaps significantly. Half-truths, misinformation and hidden agendas have characterised official pronouncements about US war motives in Iraq from the very beginning. The recent revelations about the rush to... • I like to plan things ahead of time, even though I'm more of a spontaneous character. FYI, I have bought a booth for ISNA, and I'll be in Chicago, God willing, from August 25th - September 7th. The catch is, I'll be driving from Philadelphia to Chicago (a good 14 hour drive, non-stop). It would be nice to meet some people and have a place to stay along the way. So if you or anyone you know lives along the route from here to Chicago (Cleveland, OH seems like a nice place to stop!) and wouldn't mind a nice, di... Read More

The first explosion happened on an Underground train just outside the busy Liverpool Street station. Further bl... Read More

  • I've read some very positive reviews about this movie. Surprisingly, though, noone has written about it in this village. I am planning on watching it this Friday. Depending on how much I like it the first time, I may stay for the proceeding show and watch it again. I haven't been this excited about a movie, since Khakee.
