Hello All, My article, "Flats Can't Hurt Me" was published on Vibes several weeks ago. First of all, I'd like to say that I'm extremely impressed by the writing that appears on Vibes. I work in the book publishing industry and I can't tell you how underwhelming some of the manuscripts I read are. It's nice to know that there are so many talented Muslim writers out there. I've noticed that Vibes mostly publishes serious minded articles. Given the state of the world today, I realize that these topics are o... Read More

Who is this Muslim warrior, Khalid bin Al-Waleed? He is the son of "Al-Mugueerah bin Al-Waleed" the richest man in Mecca and the most famous and well renown poet during that time. Khalid was a tall man with a well built body. He was a knight and a warrior. Many people had mistaken him for "Omar bin Al-Khattab" for such close physical resemblance. Khalid embraced Islam just 3 years before the death of prophet Mohammad (pbuh). One day, the prophet (pbuh) had asked Khalid's brother "Al-Mugueerah" who ... Read More

Assalam alaikum all, I don't know if there are any educators in this village, but I've recently heard teachers and others involved in education discuss how this act is affecting their teaching practices. With respect to the emphasis on standards, what are your opinions regarding whether this act makes it more difficult for teachers to be creative and flexible in their teaching or whether this act can help teachers to emphasize information their students need to be learning? Does the act incorrectly consider s... Read More

I think id go with Curb just because it is on HBO so they can go any direction they want. Also, something about the smuggness of Jerry irritates me. I love how on Curb Larry is a total antihero. The star of the show is the butt of the jokes.

MECCA, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) - Some of Islam's historic sites in Mecca, possibly including a home of the Prophet Mohammad, are under threat from Saudi real estate developers and Wahhabi Muslims who view them as promoting idolatry. Sami Angawi, an expert on the region's Islamic architecture, said 1,400-year-old buildings from the early Islamic period risk being demolished to make way for high rise towers for Muslims flocking to perform the annual pilgrimage to Islam's holiest city. "We are witnessing now t... Read More

I find it really annoying when a girl cares for a guy, whether it be their partner or male friend and if she suggests he should do something to better himself, they turn around and say 'ok mum'! I mean isn't it in a girl's nature to care like a mother? Both are after all females. I mean if a guy suggests something to us, we don't turn around and say 'yes dad'! Is it just me or do any of you girls get it??

Seeing Red Cut back on red and processed meat to help keep your colon healthy. Eating 160 grams or more of red or processed meat per day -- the equivalent of about 5 and a half ounces -- was associated with a significant increase in a person's risk of colorectal cancer in a recent study. Try poultry, fish, dry beans, egg whites, tofu, or nuts for an alternative to red meat that is still rich in protein. RealAge Benefit: Eating a diet low in saturated and trans fats can make your RealAge as much as 6 y... Read More

Warning: Very Bad Pun Inside A pastor who was badly overworked went to the local medical center and was able to have a clone made. The clone was like the pastor in every respect--except that the clone used extraordinarily foul language. The cloned pastor was exceptionally gifted in many other areas of pastoral work, but finally the complaints about the dirty language were too much. The pastor was not too sure how to get rid of the clone so that it wouldn't look like murder. The best thing, he decided, was to m... Read More
