  • The cousins of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan are eagerly awaiting a rendezvous with him in Peshawar. "We are proud of Shah Rukh who has become a celebrity in the Bollywood and are keenly waiting for his visit to Peshawar," Mansoor Ahmad, first cousin of Khan, said. He said SRK has expressed his desire to visit Peshawar and promised to stop by even if he visited Pakistan even for a day. SRK had visited Peshawar twice, in 1978 and 1980, when he was a schoolboy. Ahmad's father Ghulam Mohammad was the ... Read More

  • Three sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. Getting back together, they discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly Mother. The first said, "I built a big house for our Mother." The second said, "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver." The third smiled and said, "I've got you both beat. You remember how Mom enjoyed reading the Bible? And you know she can't see very well any more. I sent her a remarkable parrot that recites the entire Bible. It took Elders in the church 12 years to t... Read More

  • We like to deny it. We like to say that all our dates have been beautiful and worthy of our egos. But the unfortunate truth is that we've all been down this road. My worst experience was meeting a Spanish girl. She didnt have any photos but rather too eagerly I had shown her all of mine. She was nice to chat to and we spoke on the phone. Her voice was nice so I assumed the rest of her would be nice too. We met up and what awaited me was horrendous. She looked a total mess. Badly dressed. Hadn't even made t... Read More

  • This has been on my mind for a very long time. As an immigrant (or a FOB if you say so), I came to the US thinking that I can learn and go back help out with what I learned. Unfortunately, I found out that this is close to an impossible mission, especially that my field is medicine. A better thought would be to help people over there who are interested in reform do their job. I understand that there are Egyptian American organizations out there but I don't see any that are based on Egyptian Muslims. Also, I d... Read More

  • Here is mine. This happened the summer I was 14. My mother took me to buy my school uniform. The shop was run by an Indian family. We were standing in the queue to pay and one of the dinner ladies from school walked in. "Akkaaaaaaas!" she said, just like that. Nice lady, but a total chav. I could sense an incident coming on. My mum being my mum wanted to know what I was like at school. Was I well behaved? Were my friends boys from respectable familes? Was I polite and courteous? Was I good at my studie... Read More

(I can hear the cheers and a few groans!!! :P) I thought it appropriate to start a new journal where fans from all Scottish football clubs, not just Celtic and Rangers, could participate!! (I hope that is clear to a certain Warrior? :P). From previous journals on the village, its boiled down to who's been the better team and as a Celtic supporter (ahem!) I would argue Celtic everytime but we lost the league in dramatic fashion to Rangers..."Gone in 60 Seconds" as I'm remin... Read More
