  • HAHA. Ok so this is the flip side of the other entry. I usually write strategically for specific audiences, and don?t know if this is the right audience, but I?m writing it here anyway to help explain the other entry. Soooo ... one thing I?ve always wondered is why soooo many guys want a girl who?s ?lower? than them in just about everything, EXCEPT looks. The girl can?t be more educated or overtly intelligent than them, or as old/worldly as them, or more financially able, or taller or stronger, etc etc etc. ... Read More

  • Okay, as a Yank over in the US, I can't help but wonder if Jemima Khan & Hugh Grant are still an item. HELLO Magazine comes to my bookstore a couple weeks later than its date. If they still are, is there talk of engagement?

    May 21, 2005 at 3:37pm
they're both flighty. One thing is certain however: Jemima needs to get her name changed. It's very 1950s though that was the in thing last season. Aunt Jemima (syrup), Jemima P...

Hugh and Jemima are very much still an item... Rumours abound that an engagement will be announced in the next few months.

  • hmmm... Whenever I am away from my routine for extended periods of time, I get back into the flow w/ free-weights. After the muscles have been "shocked", ie. 1-2weeks, I like to do 'drop-sets' in my workouts. Can someone tell me the proper way to do them, in terms of actual % of weight reduced per set, #'s of reps, and #'s of sets per exercise that I should be aiming for... Thanks

    June 2, 2005 at 5:09am
what are drop sets--and how are they helpful? (is it just reducing the amount of the weight for a rep or something, b/4 going back up?)
    June 2, 2005 at 12:23am
UC, thanks for the followup! I am starting a new regimen & I'll try the dynamic weight drops after each set. I hope this will help my endurance too, somewhat?!?

  • It took me a while to master this one but its worth it. This is a good recipe for NBA Championship or MLB double header. They are called Tokyo Wings because they are prepared using a seasoning common in some Japanese dishes and very different from the standard Tabasco based wings. One 2lbs pack of chicken wings Toban Jian (can be found at any E. Asian market) 1 qt of plain yogurt 1 lb flour 1/2 lb of butter 4 cloves of garlic 1 bulb of ginger 1/2 cup of soy sauce water be sure to cut your wings i... Read More

  • "What has led to bones of contention within the scientific community are the newest discoveries which bring us to the quite justified reasoning of ?following the evidence wherever it may lead.? It?s about the fact that research and discoveries over the last 30 years in biochemistry, cells and organs, and the cosmology of the universe (Big Bang theory) justify following the hypotheses which have arisen out of science itself. Both ends of the spectrum strongly point to some kind of intelligent force birthing both ... Read More

  • 1. What is the scientific method? How does it differ from common sense and other ways of viewing human behavior? Wisdom of the mind is either scientific or folkloric. Scientific knowledge is considered any field of knowledge that deals with observed facts and the relationship among those facts. In order for the observations and conclusions of these facts to be respected as a science, there has to be a systematic way in which people study, collect, and analyze the data, known as the scientific method. • Tom had this problem of getting up late in the morning and was always late for work. His boss was mad at him and threatened to fire him if he didn't do something about it. So Tom went to his doctor who gave him a pill and told him to take it before he went to bed. Tom slept well and in fact beat the alarm in the morning. He had a leisurely breakfast and drove cheerfully to work. "Boss," he said, "The pill actually worked!" "That's all fine," said the boss. "But where were you yesterday?"
