  • Ah, that got your attns! Actually, my real question is: what's better to burn fat, doing cardio at 65% intensity or nearly 80%? I know on the treadmills and the bikes at the gym, it says for fat burn, go at 65, cardio, do 80%. Whats the deal with that? Thanks.

    September 23, 2005 at 5:00am

  • This weekend saw the Live 8 concerts - on the 20th anniversary of Live Aid - which aimed to send a message to the leaders of the G8. The message was about making poverty history, about fair trade about trade justice and not charity. Did it work? Will it work? Can we really eradicate poverty through the very well meaning actions of a bunch of musicians, a handful of actors and millions of us ordinary folk. Will the G8 leaders succumb - even though it isn't in their country's best interests?

  • WOW I saw this on Friday night at Odeon Leicester Square where I must say the sound is superb! At one point it was almost like I could feel Tom Cruise's breath on my neck... (well, the speaker wasn't far away!). The film was a really excellent adaptation. What I found so terrifying is how easily the worlds we build around us can fall to shreds... To see people's homes destroyed, their possessions become useless (like the cars etc) just goes to show how superficial everything is in effect. It was sad to see ho... Read More
