  • Allah's Apostle said: "Do not hate one another, nor be jealous of one another; and do not desert one another, but O Allah's worshipers! Be Brothers! And it is unlawful for a Muslim to desert his brother Muslim (and not to talk to him) for more than three nights." (Narrated Anas bin Malik)

  • Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain. And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy; And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields. And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief. Much o... Read More

  • Assalam alaikum all, I'm part-way through West with the Night by Beryl Markham. Her powers of description are wonderful, and I'm really enjoying reading this book. Set in the 20s (I think), the book is about her experiences growing up in Africa (hunting with the Murani tribe for wild boar, helping train and take care of her father's horses) and her work as a pilot flying across remote stretches of Africa. Has anyone else read this book? Assalam alaikum

  • Salaam, Thought I would throw this out there for all the fine food lovers out there. If you get a chance check out Sushi Samba Rio. It's a fusion of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian culture and cuisine (you can thank the site for those words sushisamba.com) along with a cool environment that reminds you more of a club but without all the crazy riff-raff. If you're curious head on over to 500 N. Wells and try it out for yourself..... Enjoy, :)
