Married life is full of excitement and frustration: In the first MONTH of m... Read More

  • Human beings are created from the dust of the earth; but do they resemble dust? Grapes come from vines; but do grapes look like vines? Does theft have the same shape as gallows? Does piety resemble eternal life? Nothing resembles its consequences. So the root of pain and torment is not evil. -Rumi, "Masnavi" Interesting...soo does that mean everything we take plesure in Is bad? Also those who inflict pain on others...would not they be considered Evil?

  • here is a cute one: A family was having some people to dinner. At the table, the mother turned to her six-year-old daughter and said, "Dear, would you like to say the blessing?" "I wouldn't know what to say," replied the little girl, shyly. "Just say what you hear Mommy say, sweetie," the woman said. Her daughter took a deep breath, bowed her head, and solemnly said, "Dear Lord, why the hell did I invite all these people to dinner!?!"

  • Often girls will say to me, "YOu are soooo lucky you are tall" (mostly desi girls will say this to me :P). As much as I love my height (which I consider 'normal' and not excessively tall) I believe their ARE some disadvantages to being taller than your average individual, so lets make a list. My list is based on my perspective as a girl but any disadvantages from a guys perspective are appreciated as well. 1. Finding trousers (or skirts) that are long enough. 2. Not having enough leg room in Buses, cars, p... Read More

  • I'm 5 feet 9 and don't consider myself that tall.....tall to me is anyone above 6 feet (for a guy or girl). The only time I really feel tall is when I'm at a desi gathering because I tower over most of the women and am the same height or taller than most of the man. I think this has more to do with the fact that desis in general are rather short, and not that I"M exceptionally tall :P Is there some standard for determining who is considered tall?! Should it be based on average heights which we all know differ... Read More

  • Hey salaams everyone, I'm in my 3rd year in the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College planning on completing the 5-yr program; which entails a bba in finance and ms in accounting. I'm looking for a part-time internship this fall semester and can work about 16-20 hours per week. I had an offer at a Cpa firm, but couldn't take it because of schedule conflicts, so I'm searching again and hope someone in the finance field can maybe help out. Thanks
