  • Salaam Everyone, I am new to this village and in general new to Islamic Banking. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good book that deals with not just Islamic Banking (I have a couple of those), but details the various business flows or processes that are involved in various Islamic Banking transactions. I have to give a presentation to a customer and they are very processes oriented. So I would like to have my presentation deal with processes inherent to Islamic Banking...Any help would be most apprecia... Read More

  • Hi. I'm kind of a newbie, and I'm looking for a comfortable masjid in the Philadlephia area.. (and friends, too!) Thing is: 1.) I'd like to find a diverse masjid where I'd be comfortable.. I know it's not about color, but it would be nice not to be the only white girl/revert there.. If you're born into Islam or from a predominantly Muslim ethnic group, you might now know what I'm talking about.. "who's that white girl?.. blah blah blah.." I KNOW people can be gossipy and catty. I probably shouldn... Read More

  • Yeah, the situation up in New York is terrible. The Knicks in my opinion are on of the worst teams in the league down there with the Hawks. Honestly, I don't know whats going through Isiah Thomas's head cause that brother doesn't know what he's doing. He spent the last 2 or 3 years stockpiling players with potential. Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, Jerrome James, etc. These were supposed to be the ballers that would bring them back to elite status in the east, but it hasn't happened. There are only a handful... • Notice how I did NOT say Islam. You can quote all the surahs and hadiths you want but the reality is far different from the truth. Question is how do you change such things for the better? Especially when most 'religous' women themselves so happily brainwash themselves into believing its ok to be submissive, dominated and far more commonly then anyone's willing to admit.. abused? I find it even more disturbing and disgusting that unless someone can back it up with religous text no one is willing to even consi... Read More

  • ..horrible sadistic people are these magicial types that they send their kids to this crazy school where they have to do all kinds of dangerous stuff just to win some stupid tournament!? And most of the charactors seemed to not have any concern at all about this as they all cheered on their friends until one of them actually gets killed!? • Detainees in the Guantanamo Concentration Camp are on a hunger strike. They would rather kill themselves than be humiliated, tortured, and beaten by US soldiers. This is a good article- villagevoice.com here are some quotes from the detainees in Guantanamo "I am in constant pain. I would prefer to be buried alive than continue to receive the treatment I receive. At least I would suffer less and die." (Sami Al-Laithi, Egyptian detained in Guantanamo) "Almost every ... • The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Verily God created Mercy. The day He created it, He made it into 100 parts. He kept with Him 99 parts, and sent (just) one part to all His creatures. Had those who do not believe known of all the Mercy that is in the Hands of God, (they) would not lose hope of entering Paradise. And had the (believers) known of all the punishment that is present with God, (they) would not consider (themselves) safe from hell-fire." Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Hadith 476
