I think we all agree that Michigan isn't the best vacation spot unless you like to hunt or camp or... sleep. so, where do you all go when you want to go on vacation? when you leave michigan, where do you go? OR maybe there is some undiscovered part of Michigan that I just don't know about that IS a good vacation spot. Actually it's nice to go up north in the summer. anywhere else you go?
July 1, 2005 at 4:03pmthanks for the note Mona but as Sammie said I am use to it... I also get annoyed with salamz... as one should say AsSalaamAlaikum, AsSalaam or say the short form like AOA or ASA...

I just finished this book and enjoyed it immensely.... after studying moghul art a few years ago in college, i yearned a historical fiction account of what life must have been like for the emperors and empresses of the time. this book provided that account and more. i really think muslims need to read this kind of books about accounts of parts of the muslim empire to really understand our roots.... and to realize how much we have to be proud of as well as analyze their downfalls.... any thoughts on this book? ... "Eminent Domain"??? What!? money.cnn.com How? How could the Supreme Court pass this for corporations like WalMart, Target? Does anyone know? Then again, hasnt the S.Court been confidently partisan lately? I think what this really is, is 'Eminent Greed'. This reminds me of how the White House refused to let Dr. Condoleeza Rice testify infront of the independent 9/11 commission citing "Executive Privilege." I think the 'haves'... Read More

So as I?ve just joined this village yesterday, curious about how single Muslim women think, as well as share my perspective to your queries, it reminded me of a passage I?ve read in Napoleon Hill?s ?Succeed and Grow Rich through Persuasion?, p.28: ?If you do not yet know what you desire from life, if it is still a hazy, changeable, unnamed goal, you should define it. Without a purpose, without adequate plans for the fulfillment of whatever goal you may have, your mind is left wide open to negative, lazy menta... Read More

Assalam-u-Alakum, I would like to ask converts a question. There is a widespread belief which is enhanced by media and propaganda that in Islam women are treated inappropriately. I wonder if it made any difference when you were considering converting. Did it scare you or made you more curious? What were your expectations/concerns in terms of women?s treatment?
September 30, 2005 at 1:13amI can't really remember if it did or not for me. But I do recall that I saw a different picture from reading the Qur'an and learning how the Prophet (saw) treated women. Here's another interesting VE I found and nicked to discuss here... These are not my words.. I couldn't be bothered to change them! I thought I'd start a new VE about this in response to a comment from another VE. I am really curious as to how pple can overlook the past, when it tells you a lot about their background, and this may impact their future practices. Certainly someone's social background and upbringing etc plays a big role into their future practices and habits may be hard to break. History may ... Read More

Okay so here's the deal. The situation has changed a great deal. Basically, I'm an independent filmmaker undertaking a grand idea: a road-trip to California...but with an intellectual twist. It is a very fluid documentary, with no script. Essentially, four people who know nothing of each other will be thrown into a car and they will drive to California...on the way, they will discuss a myriad of issues and interview various people in order to fully understand a very fundamental issue important to American Muslim... my verdict is that, it is one of the slowest movie ever. there are some funny parts but overall i was hoping much more. i did zonk out a couple of times. but i will admit, all the clothes, jewelry worn by the women and the men were just amazing!!!! everything was well shot everyone acted well, the story didnt live up to the expectations!

Ever dreamed of saving the world or at least a little part of it in your backyard. I recently bought a 96 Ducati Monster 900. For some reason, it shuts off by itself. After revving it in first gear, the oil light goes on. Do you think that just because it doesn't have enough oil that it would shut off by itself? Otherwise, what else could it be?
