  • Okay, I'll admit it...I was watching one of the 1001 new reality shows on tv-Before and After, featuring a guy who lives in the OC, who felt compelled to get his face redone. The dude got liposuction on his neck, cheek (neck fat) and chin (plastic) implants, and a nose job. I mean the guy looked totally normal before the surgery, and aside from a more prominent chin and a wee bit straighter nose, he barely looked any different. He thought it was worth it. What would compel someone to go through this? Is ... Read More

  • I noticed in the prequel trilogy, Palpatine's origins were never fully explained. However, his roots appear to be on Naboo, a planet within the boundaries of the Republic. In the Phantom Menace, it was said that if Anakin was born in the Republic, he would definately have been discovered much sooner. I'm sure Palpatine was born in the Republic, and turned out to be one of the most powerful force users. How come he was never discovered by the Jedi in his youth?

  • There is a distinctive ritual of Asian people that they want to see their spouse as different persons from that of their friends. For example most of the Asian guys wouldn?t mind being friends with any sort of women, whereas want to see their wives unobtrusive and submissive. In the same way girls do fancy trendy and play-boys, but when it comes to marriage, they want a decent, polite and cultured man. Is it sort of ?opposite attracts? thing or another stereotype of our south-Asian society?? Pls share you p... Read More

  • Why are the four men cited by the police guilty as alleged? Anthony Lawson asks the questions no one else wants to ask. I am concerned that the Muslim community, in Britain, seems to accept the that the four young men, named by the police, are guilty of the London bombings. In the comments posted on the BBC's Have Your Say there is NOT ONE which questions these findings. I have written to Have Your Say, but my comments have not been posted. Read the establishment media, watch CNN, ITV and the BBC... Read More

  • This evening, I wrote a song based on one of my poems. The lyrics are about the changes one goes through in life when faced with the bitter realities around. The music is quite simple, using a three-chord progression in the key of D major, topped by an obligatory electric guitar solo. Check it out: home.comcast.net Thanks, Ahmad Bilal

  • so i watched the movie 'closer' (jude law, julia roberts, natalie portman, clive owen) this evening... there was a scene with clive owen and natalie portman in a strip club where they played three fantastic tracks back to back... 'dark escape' by midival punditz, 'smack my b*tch up' by the prodigy, and 'how soon is now' by the smiths. i haven't listened to these tracks in a while, so it was good to listen to them once again, especially as background music in a motion picture setting.
