I used to run in high school. I was particularly a sprinter but I also ran distance. A few times I've tried to get back into it but a few things hold me back. One, man is it hard to start from scratch again - my knees hurt, I get shin splints right away, etc. Secondly, I wear hijab and I struggle to find a time and place to run where I really feel comfortable with it. I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences, suggestions, etc.
May 3, 2005 at 9:29pmhere's a link for a running club if you are down with that. hope all this helps good luck http://www.rrca.org/members/showlist.php?state=CO

I think one of my favorite story lines that star trek covered was the Borg. It penetrated all the series starting from TNG to Enterprise (the one that just got cancelled). Of course my favorite episode (or series of episodes) was the one where Cpt. Picard almost gets converted into a Borg, but the last two episodes of Voyager where the borg hive is destroyed are a close second. What about some others? :)

Any folks out there in risk managment (either academia or corporate) that are looking at risk management strategies for Part D. I am currently in the process of searching for software that could be applied to this. I have come across SAS and JHCC CSC Modeling tools. Wondering if there are any others out there? This is for use in both medicare and medicaid environments.

Here are a couple of links to sites that discuss animal rights law. The first link is to Rutgers University Law School, which was the first law school in the nation to offer a course on animal rights law as part of their regular curriculum. The second site provides legal information for animal rights groups. www.animal-law.org www.instituteforanimalrightslaw.org

May 31, 2005 at 7:36pmHi Fitra. I remember reading somewhere that Albert Einstein favored a vegetarian diet later in life. I guess we have something more than our birthdays in common, after all.May 31, 2005 at 12:46amAlbert Einstein believed "Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on our nature. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind."May 31, 2005 at 12:45am"Our task must be to free ourselves . . . by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty." As much as the question it self is controversial, it goes down under the souls? framework to checkout all the hidden skeletons. For once if we can take off our narrow minded religious hats and think like human beings; for sure, we will see a dozen religions surrounding us. The question is not to debate which religion is the best of all, but to see the need for an organized religion (e.g. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc?). Is it something that we are human beings cannot live without? Are a... Read More

The cruel and sadistic tradition of bullfighting is, unfortunately, one of the biggest tourist draws in Spain (and other countries around the world). A recent survey conducted in Spain revealed that 60% of Spaniards are not even interested in bullfighting. Tourists are keeping bullfighting in business. I'm adding a link here to Peta's page, which has more information about bullfighting and what you (that's assuming that you are opposed to animal cruelty) and I can do to make sure that people stop pumping mone... 0. Was our beloved Rasool (SAAWW) a vegetarian? YES or NO? NO. 1. Do we all acknowledge the event when he, as a youth on a trip to Syria, refused to attend a gathering where non-halal meat was being served? I BELIEVE THIS. 2. Okay, then where did he learn the correct ways of Deen-e-Ibrahim? Could it be learned in the homes of Kuffar'e Makkah? NO. (Please correct me if any answer is incorrect - the burden is on you, O Khalifah!-) 3. So then where would Muhammad Mustafaa (SAAWW) have learned about Zab... Read More
