Source : memri.org Extremist Muslims in Western countries have come under increasing criticism by moderate Muslims who are familiar with the West through living in America or Europe, either temporarily or permanently. In three recently published articles, Arab academic and intellectuals harshly criticized their extremist activities. In his article on the reformist website elaph.com, Dr. Ahmad Abu Matar, a Palestinian academic residing in Oslo, st... Read More

Saw the Canadian Grand Prix today. Schumi and Barichello came in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Exact same finish at last years race in Montreal, and younger brudda Ralph came in first, but his Williams Bemmah was disqualified due to a technicality. I hope Schumi gets his groove back., I was hopeful that he could overtake Kimi (not gonna attempt to write his last name), but the Fin was too good. I was at the Canadian granp prix last year and watching the two red Ferrari's dominate the race One, two around the tr... Read More

Do you guys think that Muslims in the west have the capacity and the capability of becoming the future leaders of the Muslim world? My definition of leadership is not limited to just political leadership...but in all spheres of our lives: Economic, Political & Social areas!! We have the education, money, and all other vital ingredients of becoming leaders. But do people feel that responsibility which Allah has bestowed on all of us? I belive that Sharukh Khan is the Most Over-Rated Actor in the History of Indian Cinema. He has not done anything different he has yet to push him self, I feel its Ludicrous when they mention him and Dilip Kumar in the Same Sentence. I dont how go to where he is but damm India has better actors even today.

I just saw this Iranian movie. Five stars! It's about a modest housewife's revelation to her husband of her radical political activity and "affair" with a married man during her university days in 1978-1979. It's obviously referring to today's political and cultural restrictions but it has a very human story. And how many movies are told from a modern Muslim woman's point of view? I'm not Iranian and wanted to know what you guys think of it and am wondering if there are references that I didn't catch. I wa... Read More

Do you guys think does preventing a rape victim from leaving Pakistan helps in damage control? Overall its sad that on one hand the government fails to bring the people to justice due to inadequte laws or inefficient police system, and on the other puts the rape victims on Exit Control List? Enclosed below is the text of a petition to be sent to authorities in New York, Washington DC and New Delhi to protest against Rakesh Sharma's harrowing experience with cops from NYPD. His seems to be a clear case of racial profiling, which, inspite of explicit denials by the US establishment, is a rampant practice. Please lend your support by raising your voice against harassment of individuals through draconian powers being exercised by the US law enforcement agencies in the name of War on Terror. This is a really great brunch item and its sooooo easy to make. It's just like a regular french toast recipe but you use Challah bread instead of regular bread. Brioche is also a great substitute. Beat 4 eggs and three tablespoons of heavy whipping cream for two minutes. It is important to do it so long to make the toast fluffy. Sprinkle cinnamon in the egg mixture (or you can wait and sprinkle it directly on the toast) Dip the Brioche or Challah into the egg mixture making sure to coat both sides of the b... Read More

I've always been fascinated with Vasco Nunez de Balboa, who was the first European to see the Pacific. Here is a poem about Balboa from Neruda's Canto General collection: Discoverer, centuries later, the vast sea--- my foam, lunar latitude, empire of the water--- speaks to you through my mouth. Your plenitude came before your death. You raised fatigue to the sky, and from the trees' hard night toil led you to the sum of the seashore, the great ocean. In your gaze the marriage of diffused light ... Read More

Is waiting for Mr. Right a wise thing? What is the age rang in which we should commit and start a new life together as husbands and wives? How selective/picking should we be? What should be considered? Marital Status, Wealth, Education, Looks, Personality, Family, Weight, Height, Creditability, Potential, Nature/Manners, Religious strength, Speeding tickets, Smoking/Drinking, Convicts, Humor, etc.? From what point of view are my fellow Naseebers picking their ?To Bees??
