  • Assalamoalikum dear brothers and sisters, I am very happy to be part of this village and even happier to see that many muslims share my ideas of being one ummah irrespective of our firqah or country. Nationalism is a sin because for us (muslims) whole world is our nation and all muslims are our brothers and sisters. We are not sunni nor are we shia, we are muslims and alhumdolillah i can prove this under the light of hadeeth. Well over the years we have always focused on problems b... Read More

The US president suffered scrapes on his hands and arms and was treated by a White House doctor, his spokesman said. The Scottish police officer, on security duty, was sent to hospital to be treated for a minor ankle injury. Mr Bush, celebrating his 59th birthday, was said to be going at a "pretty good speed" when he fell from his bike. It was... Read More

  • My name's Zia and I'm a chef in NY. I'm trying hard to get a job at a new restaurant in Chicago called Alinea, with Chef Grant Achatz. I just want to know if anyone has tried the fine dining scene around Chicago (i.e. Trotters, Tru, Trio, Alinea, etc.) and if so, what do you think of the places? I only ask because leaving my entire life in NY to come work in Chicago is a big step, so I want to know if the restaurants are worth the recognitions. NY has a bunch of competitive places, but Chicago's fine d... Read More

  • Ladies, you?ve recently started an inquiry in this village about whether Desi Men are truly romantic. You may call me biased as a man, but I maintain that many desi men are romantic. That?s why I have dedicated this journal to fellow desi men who are romantic; to post romantic works and stories. Men: Don?t tell the ladies what you ?would? do. Talk is cheap. You don?t ever have to have been married/involved to post here, but you need a true story or a rendition of (or link to) ro... Read More

  • Today I finally got confirmation of the value that the world at large places on egyptian life, $0.00 . Dr. Ihab al-Sherif, the egyptian embassador to Iraq, the highest ranking foreign official to be captured in Iraq since the start of the war was murdered today. I will not comment (here) on the crime, and perputrators of this crime, except to say - READ THIS VERSE (Al-Ma'idah 5:32), it seems extremely clear to me (I am assuming it was actually muslims that did this). I will however comment on the fact that for t... Read More

    July 10, 2005 at 4:37am
Muslims do love to splash water! Most girls bathrooms stink! There's mold everywhere, in every masjid I've ever been in! It's disgusting!

  • As you all have probably heard by now, Michael Redd and Ray Allen have both agreed in principle to max deals. Redd's is in the range of over $90 million over 6 years, whereas Allens is $80 million over 5 years. I personally don't think Redd is worth the max, and the cavs woulda been dumb to give him that, but Allen is worth it (compared to other players). thoughts???

    July 11, 2005 at 12:25am
They both are over paid. They don't have rings
