  • The Twenty and the One A well-worn one dollar bill and a similarly distressed twenty dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation. The twenty dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the county. "I've had a pretty good life," the twenty proclaimed. "Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, the finest restaurants in New York, performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean.""Wow!" sa... Read More

  • Mother Teresa's Heavenly Experience When Mother Teresa died and went to heaven, God greeted her at the Pearly Gates. "Be thou hungry, Mother Teresa?" asked God. "I could eat," Mother Teresa replied. So God opened a can of tuna and reached for a chunk of rye bread and they began to share it. While eating this humble meal, Mother Teresa looked down into Hell and saw the inhabitants devouring huge steaks, lobsters, pheasants, and pastries. Curious, but deeply trusting, she remained quiet. • If you are ever in a situation where you are badly stuck between a rock and a wall, what will you choose? e.g. If a terrorist comes to you and proves that he has a remote contol detonator that will kill 2 or more people for sure, but he is willing to not press the button if you kill yourself with the gun right in front of you. Will you do it with the knowledge, that, to kill yourself is forbidden religiously? (the only way, the terrorist is communicating with you is though a TV live broadcast, you cant ... Read More

This is exactly the question mamad, will you "without knowing" equate your "one" life as a human to 2 or more human lives. thus the notion "greater good".
    May 12, 2005 at 8:25am
Depends who the two people he's gonna blow up are. If it's Saddam and Osama I'll press the button myself.

Or if you eat after 11pm, your body becomes unhealthy or likely to gain weight.... After a busy day I tend to exercise before bedtime - 100 sit ups.... Any of you guys in the same league as me by any chance?

  • Heres a situation, has anyone here had a good friend that brought nothing to the table but DRAMA? And the negativity has gone too far? Now what do you do? Everytime you try to discuss something it gets taken way too far either in an arguement or some other type of drama? So what is the best way of dealing with someone so negative? Offer help? Kick them to the curb?

  • Did anyone else see Kingdom of Heaven? I watched it twice in the span of 4 days (ok ok, I was dragged to see it the second time). It is generally very well representing of Muslims, and quite an interesting story, even though there are a lot of historic inaccuracies. Also, the actor playing Salah Al-din is a really good Syrian actor named Ghassan Masoud. He plays it quite charismatically! I think y'all should see it!

  • Ok this supposed to be fun, you put up a literal translation of an english or Arabic term or phrase, and the next person should guess it or be able to translate it:) Example: What's up?=maza faoq? keef haluk?=what is your status? :)

    May 12, 2005 at 10:44am
Sheikh Zayed certainly was a great man and many obituaries have been written about him. He is quoted as saying "Arab oil is not dearer than Arab blood."

  • Sorry folks my Islamic schooling taught me that Allah is without gender. Allah has no mother, no father, no daughter no SON. That being true why did you get so upset that Allah was referred to as a her? Why not get upset when he is referred to as a He or male as well?

It's funny when you mention these countries as having the strongest muslim armies in the world. They wouldn't stand a chance against any western country or Israel for that matter.

  • Has anyone ever sat and thought about the sacrifices their parents have made for them? Many of us are Arab Muslim Americans and most of us have parents who came from other countries to make a "better" life for their families. They left what is familiar to pursue a dream. Mother's day just passed and I was thinking about all the sacrifices both of my parents have made for me. AlhamdillaAllah I am very lucky for both of them. My father came from Syria to the United States with $150 and a dream of education an... Read More

  • Salam. Well, I have read some of the other posts and have to say that Nash does deserve MVP. Just like JKidd turned around NJ in 01-02, Nash turned around Phx. Except for Q, this is almost the same team Starbury had, and he took them no where. Point guards like JKidd, and Nash are hard to find these days. The are **important** to a team, and the most **valuable** asset of their team. Just like Shaq, and the great MJ, players are selected as MVPs because of their importance to their team. So in the e... Read More

  • Hope you have fun with this! Who are you? Everyone has a personality of a cartoon character. Have you ever asked yourself what cartoon character do you most resemble? A group of investigators got together and analyzed the personalities of well-known and modern cartoon characters. The information that was gathered was made into this test. Answer all the questions with what describes you best, add up all your points (which are next to the answer that you choose) at the end and look for your res... Read More
